Don't stay silent on child abuse

Since last couple of years, growing incidents of child abuse are of worrisome. It has become our unsolvable problem. Society has great responsibility that it should play its vital role in saving children from sexual abuse and death. We are not raising loud voice against this crime. This negligence is also of worrisome. No such epic incidents should occur in any decent country or society. Children are common responsibility of parents, society and state. Everyone of us knows that parents are obliged to take care of and educate their children. But there is also the responsibility of state as well to provide a safe environment for children where every child could live with peace and comfort. Society is also responsible to treat each child with due sympathy and adopt him as his child. Parents‘ individual self-training loses its effect at the time when the child gets out and he does not get a safe environment and becomes victim.

Another issue is also that children are often sexually abused by bloody and close relatives, and it is difficult to help such children because of phycologic effects associated with them. In such cases, the problem is that children and their parents don’t obstruct but their families stand in the way of them. In such incidents, the role of police will remain as swing mark as long as their mental training involves respect of humanity and in their curriculum doesn’t include the chapter of human rights. Various researches regarding incidents related to child abuse show that one of five children in Pakistan suffers from sexual abuse before reaching its eighteen year of age. Its main reason is that parents don’t teach their children and deprive them from awareness. This silence is spreading the crime further.

In my opinion, the whole society should support the victims of such incidents. We should conduct seminars on awareness related to child safety. We should raise voice against this and there should be strong protest against it. Representative authorities should provide justice to victims, and the criminals should be punished according to laws. There should be proper rules and regulations, firm laws for such cases so that such factors could be eliminated from our society and country. Its our common responsibility to save children from child abuse.
